Kids Fashion Tips

I need to write a book on how to make your baby look fashionable.

But a few people have asked me recently and I wanted to mention a few tips.

In no particular order:

*Buy girl jeans for your boy baby. Skinny jeans or straight leg jeans are best. Make sure that there are no pink stitches or hearts on the back pockets.
If you are getting girl skinny jeans for your boy, get one size larger so they are long enough.

*As soon as ANYTHING gets a stain or a hole (other than hole in jeans...which I'll get to later) donate it. Even "play clothes" and jammies.

*Only put clothes on your child that FIT THEM. Shirts that are too short look silly and pants that are too big or baggy look sloppy...even on kids.
The exception to the rule is skinny jeans that are getting too short can be rolled up once to get a few more months out of them. Even on boys a "Capri" is cute as long as it's a skinny jean.

Keep a box or a bin in each child's closet with things that are too small. Anytime they put it on and it doesn't fit, immediately put it into the box.

*Jeans that get holes can have a cute patch sewn inside to make them look nice again.

*Do your child's hair!
If your baby doesn have any hair or has bald spots, put a hat on him...
Or put a bow on her...
A simple felt bow will be great.

You don't need a big huge tacky flower the size of her face.
This is the exception to the "big bow" rule...
And the only reason why it's ok is because this baby has a lot of hair and the bow doesn't take away from the adorable-ness of this baby!

*Once your baby turns 2, stop shopping at Carter's. No more "My Daddy thinks I'm adorable" onsies. In fact, no more wording on shirts at all. Dress your child like a little CLASSY adult.

*No occasion is EVER too casual for a bowtie!

* Vintage Styles are back!
1920's-1960's look great on a child
 (no 80's though!)

*And my biggest rule of all:
COLOR COORDINATE YOUR FAMILY!
If you choose to match your "same sex" children, that's perfect. If not, at LEAST have everyone wearing the same general colors or coordinating colors.
It's important people.
Do it.

Well I think that's about it.
I could probably go on for days. And I'm already thinking of a follow up to this, but here ya go for now.

Your baby is a person too.
Remember that!
:-D

CHEERS!
